Anna Silk was born at St. Thomas University in Fredericton in New Brunswick, Canada. She is the daughter Peter Silk - an academic - and Ilkay Silk - a talented actress, writer, director and producer. Her father hails from Britain and her mother is a "Turkish English-Cypriot expat." Anna's earliest memories involve attending rehearsals for plays and observing her mother at working. Her appearances in commercials were numerous as a young child. Anna moved to Toronto in the fall of 1999 to further her acting career. After that, she settled to Los Angeles (California) over the next ten years. Seth Cooperman and Anna met in Los Angeles in 2007, in an acting workshop. They got engaged in 2009, after they got married. Anna was converted to Judaism in January 2011 and then they re-wed at a Jewish wedding in Fredericton. Bo's similar-sex romance to Lauren (played by Zoie Palmer) was featured in CNN's list of all-time favorite TV Couples and named the Top Television Couple of the year 2013 by E! Entertainment Television. The success of the show led to Anna amassing a significant online following on social media.
