Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop phenomenons one who was able to completely cross over from the traditional to becoming an enduring celebrity and then conquering the globe in the process. Swift has thrown off her country roots as if they were second skins showing herself to be the most savvy pop singer/songwriter within her generation. She has the ability to tap into the current trend and create her unique. These skills were evident on her first hits, particularly the neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album, 2008's Fearless showed a writer discovering the person she really was, and, in doing so, gaining a mass audience. Fearless was successful not only in America, but also with six platinum-certified singles. In fact, the Top Ten songs Love Story & the hit song You Belong with Me were the most important reasons. But, it also did well all over the world. The Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago consolidated her previous success, and catapulted Swift into the spotlight. With her subsequent three albums, Red (2012) 1989 (2004) and Reputation (2017), the popularity of Swift grew, and she became part of the world of pop music where it was clear that she belonged. Although she slowed down her approach with 2020's stripped-down siblings' folklore and Evermore she continued to be atop of the world of pop, a position she maintained with re-recordings of her back catalog along with Midnights her chart-topping synth-heavy 2022 set.
