Fawn Mckay

Fawn McCay, born at Ogden Utah September 15, 1915. Fawn MacKay, who was a member of the Mormon Church's original family, applied her brilliant writing skills as well as her impressive research skills in order to create the psycho-historical biographies about Joseph Smith. The book, The book, No Man has a clue about My History was published in 1945. That title was taken from a funeral speech delivered by the founder of the Church of Latter-Day Saints in 1844, when he shocked those he addressed with the words: You don't know me you never knew my heart. My story is not known to any one. In reality I'm not even sure. Fawn was a 29-year-old Fawn. Since then there have been at least three writers who have taken on the challenge. There are some who have attempted to establish a medical diagnosis. Documents are not lacking, but they are contradictory. The process of assembling these documents, by sifting through third-party and first-hand sources, fitting the Mormons' stories to those of non-Mormons' into an authentic historical context - can be a challenge. It's both thrilling, and also instructive. It's a task which Fawn Brodie put her professional energy into.
